This is the kind of thing that can change every few months, whenever Google wants it to change. Best to not get so set into relying on the algorithms.

Michael,

Thanks for the quick reply! Here's another question: =)

Suppose I have 3 links from the same page:

-link #1 pointing to http://www.domain.com/index.php?action=anyaction
-link #2 pointing to http://www.domain.com/index.php
-link #3 pointing to http://www.domain.com

If link #1 is nofollow, will #2 and #3 still be considered? I guess #3 would be but what about #2?

Thanks again!

Vincent,

No, I hadn't tried that, at least not until now. :)

Let's see what happens with <a href="/2008/11/16/yet-another-link-test-single-source-page-multiple-links-nofollowed-middle/" rel="nofollow">this test</a>.

Michael,

So the conclusion is that the destination link doesnt rank for the anchor text of links #2 and #3 since link #1 is nofollow?

Have you ever tried to nofollow link #2 to see if link #1 would still be considered?

Thanks!

On PuzzCAPTCHA, that's my bad. I upped it to 60 seconds when Matt Cutts said the same thing, forgot to change the instructions.

Which is weird, I thought I wrote that to pull dynamically from the settings... will look at it later. Thanks. :)

Itsme, you need to look at what is being measured though. This was never a test of "how much juice is passed", which is a much, much more difficult test to determine. This was a test to determine if <em>any</em> juice was passed. Based on that this test is plenty sufficient.

Also interesting to note that it is 1 year later, and still the only pages to rank for phrases #2 or #3 are ones that actually have the phrase in the onpage text.

I just wanted to add that this is the first time that I have seen the Puzzle Captcha. I think the concept is good and I understand the need for a time limit, but I would like to suggest a slightly longer time, perhaps 45 seconds, if that is allowed.

I didn't complete the first one on time because I had never seen it before and it took a moment to figure out what to do. I did solve the second one. I know lots of people who could make intelligent comments who might have difficulty in completing it in 30 seconds.
